Women power showcased @ Rio Olympics




The Rio Olympics is the current big thing that everyone is talking about. Though Indian athletes have roughly come close to winning and viewer’s expectations are getting slimmer day by day, it was only in last two-three days when our women athletes gave us a ray of hope!

 Although 23 year old gymnast, Dipa Karmakar couldn’t win a medal for India (losing an Olympic medal by just 0.15 of a point in the vault final), but she definitely won millions of hearts for her performance and effort. “Five-time Olympic champion, Nellie Kim told me that in 10 years' time, Indian gymnastics will be at the same level as the Chinese team," said Dipa.

She has also been recommended for this year's Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India's highest honour in sports. #Proud!

23 year old, Sakshi Malik from Rohtak won a bronze medal for India in the women’s 58kg freestyle wrestling category after defeating Aisuluu Tynybekova (Kyrgyzstan) 8-5 in the bronze medal round. 

The 21-year-old Hyderabadi Shuttler P.V Sindhu made history on August 17, when she defeated World No 2 Wang Yihan and stormed into the finals of badminton women's singles event, ensuring either a silver or gold medal for India in Rio. We wish P.V Sindhu all the very best for the finals.

On reaching the final of the badminton women's singles, Sindhu warned the top seed that her best is yet to come. "Of course, I am yet to give my best. That's in the next game. I will definitely make the wish of our country people for gold come true. I will play my heart out," Sindhu told reporters.




The women power showcased on the world stage is a big achievement besides cementing their place in history and making India proud.
